Porttin Pipelines Rangers Win Silver

This weekend, the Porttin Pipelines Rangers captured the silver medal at the 18U AAA Provincial Championships.

The Rangers went undefeated in pool play, defeating the Black Gold 47s (7-5), Sherwood Park Dukes (17-12), and Webber Wildcats (14-13) to secure first place in their division.

 

The game against Webber was truly one for the ages. Delayed by lightning, heavy rain, and challenging field conditions, the game took nearly 26 hours and three different diamond locations to complete. Trailing late, the Rangers rallied with four runs in the seventh inning to tie the game before scoring five more in the eighth to complete an unforgettable comeback victory. Every player on the roster played and contributed in a game that perfectly reflected the team's resilience and depth.

 

The Rangers carried that momentum into the semifinal, defeating the Edmonton Padres 11-0 to advance to the championship game, where they ultimately fell to the Sherwood Park Dukes to earn the provincial silver medal.

 

Player of the Game performances throughout the tournament came from Bubba Reed, Levi Miller, Carson Baumbach, and Asher Rodzinyak. The Rangers' co-MVPs of the provincial weekend were Matteus Lucas and Rainn Graves.

This remarkable group of players and coaches finishes the season with a 32-18 record, a provincial silver medal, and most importantly, a brotherhood that will last long after the final out.
