Challenger Baseball is an adaptive baseball program that provides an opportunity for children and youth with physical and/or cognitive disabilities to enjoy the full benefits of participating in organized baseball at a level structured to their abilities.
Challenger Baseball games are played for fun, in a safe environment, where keeping score, is simply not done. Challenger participants are assigned able bodied “Baseball Buddies” (one on one) to assist in their involvement in the game. Pushing wheelchairs around the base path, running along side an unsure player, assisting players with holding the bat or even executing a great swing are just a few ways our Buddies improve the baseball experience for our Challenger participants. Defensively, our Buddies provide protection for participants from a hit or miss thrown ball, ensuring they are safe and having a great evening at the ball park!
Each participant is outfitted in a uniform shirt and provided a photo to commemorate the wonderful memories and great friends they made this season!
Players between the ages of 6 - 18 years of age (male and female) are encouraged to register.
There is no cost to participate in our Challenger program, this is due to Vesta Energy’s generous sponsorship!
