Jeff MacDonald named Head Coach of the 2026 18U BAEL CARSTAR Rangers

RDMBA is pleased to announce Jeff MacDonald as the Head Coach of the 2026 18U BAEL CARSTAR Rangers.

Jeff grew up in Central Alberta and played three seasons with the 18U AAA Red Deer Braves (1998-2000), during which the team hosted and competed in the 18U National Championships each year. While with Red Deer Minor Baseball, Jeff also represented Team Alberta at two Canada Cups and the Canada Summer Games, and was a member of the Junior National Team (Team Canada 18U).

Jeff continued his baseball career at Prairie Baseball Academy, where he developed as a pitcher and was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 2001 MLB Draft.

Over the past decade, Jeff has dedicated his summers to coaching and player development, building a strong track record of success. His accomplishments include six Provincial Championships, a Western Canadian Championship, and the 2024 18U National Championship, where he served as pitching coach for the Red Deer Braves. Jeff has also contributed to Alberta’s high-performance programs by assisting with AABC Team Alberta evaluation camps and coaching Team Alberta at AABC events.
