AGM Nominations
As previously communicated at the 2024 AGM, Red Deer Minor Baseball has moved to a system for early board of director nominations. This system is more consistent with other organizations across Canada and provides several benefits:
- Informed Decision-Making: Members will have ample time to review candidates’ qualifications, backgrounds, and contributions, leading to more informed voting.
- Enhanced Transparency: Early nominations promote transparency in the selection process, building trust among members.
- Encouraged Participation: Advance notice can lead to increased member engagement and discussion regarding the nominees, fostering a sense of involvement in the governance process.
- Improved Planning: RDMBA can better prepare for the AGM, ensuring that all logistical aspects, such as presentations and discussions about the nominees, are well-organized.
- Attracting Quality Candidates: A clear nomination timeline can attract more qualified candidates who may appreciate a structured process.
- Strategic Alignment: Early nominations give the board time to align its strategy with the skills and perspectives of the incoming members, ensuring they are well-suited to address current and future challenges.
As per RDMBA’s current bylaws, a nominations committee has been formed to help solicit nominations and vet candidates who would like to be considered, while keeping the above benefits in mind.

Important RDMBA 2025 Registration Dates and Deadlines:
November 15th - Registration opens for all Grassroots, A (non-competitive), AA (competitive) and AAA (performance) Programs
January 15th - Registration closes for 11U - 18U AA and AAA Competitive/Performance Programs
February 1st - Registration opens for Challenger Baseball and closes February 28th
March 1st - Registration closes for Grassroots and all A Non-Competitive Programs
