The Opportunity:

Red Deer Minor Baseball Association is currently recruiting for Facilities Maintenance staff to fill up to two, four-month seasonal positions. The successful candidate(s) will have a good work ethic, be responsible, and be able to work both individually and together with others.

The Facilities Maintenance position is responsible to provide daily maintenance to baseball facilities owned and/or operated by the Red Deer Minor Baseball Association (RDMBA), ensuring the facilities are maintained in the best possible condition for the enjoyment and safety of players, coaches, officials, and visitors.

As a Facilities Maintenance Operator, you will be responsible for facilities maintenance including, but not limited to:

Baseball diamond and field maintenance
General custodial duties
Assisting with small construction projects
Operating vehicles, light equipment, and pulling trailers to various locations with the City of Red Deer.

As Our Preferred candidate, you will:

Be reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Have the ability to operate vehicles and trailers safely and efficiently.
Be able to operate small machinery and implements safely and efficiently.
Have reliable transportation, with a valid Alberta driver’s license with no more than 5 demerits and no license suspensions, from any jurisdiction, in the last two years.
Be 18 years of age or older.
Have knowledge of basic maintenance tasks such as painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
Have a strong sense of teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with others.
Be able to work independently and take initiative when needed.
Have physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods.
Have a commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for youth athletes and visitors.
Previous experience in facility maintenance, construction, property maintenance, or baseball operations is considered an asset.
