The AA division is a competitive league where players of enhanced skill set have the opportunity to develop and advance in a competitive environment while following the rules set forth by RDMBA, Baseball Alberta and Baseball Canada.

*Female registrants are also permitted to remain in each division for 1 additional year as an overage player, should they wish to do so.
* 2016 players may evaluate for the 11U AA teams as an underage player. If your player is not selected for a 11U AA team they will be moved back to the 9U division for the season and will still be eligible to evaluate for the 9U advanced teams, if they wish.
*RDMBA only accepts Imports at the 18U AAA, 15U AAA and 13U AAA levels at this time.
Evaluation fees are non-refundable, and are in addition to the registration fees. Evaluation fees are automatically added in the registration process.
11U AA teams are registered in the Baseball Alberta provincial league
The objective of the Provincial AA League is to provide a competitive and developmental level of play for players/teams in a Province-wide format. Provincial AA Leagues will operate on a 3-round seeding basis, with teams playing in a Regional format in May, a North/South Divisional format in June and a Provincial Tier format in July.
Player and Parent Expectations
Attendance: Players must commit to being available for practices, and more important, all Games. The teams are designed to give everyone optimal playing time, any missing player on game day will dramatically affect the team. Games should only be missed for emergencies.
Travel: There will be a considerate amount of travel for these teams on weekends, teams will host some games in Red Deer but will also play the majority of their games out of town on weekends.
Financial: In addition to registration fees players will pay seed fees to the team. Seed fees cover multiple things including umpires, tournament costs, team activities etc., seed fee amount is set by the team. There will be extra costs associated with travel (hotels, dining, transportation etc.). Players will also be asked to sell RDMBA raffle tickets (see below)
Parent Volunteers: It is expected that all parents volunteer for a role on the team to help the season run smooth.

Evaluation Policy and Procedure

Policy:
To directly observe and assess player’s demonstrated skills, development potential, work ethic, behavior and other factors as determined by RDMBA for accurate team placement. Player’s will be scored and ranked by evaluators based on their individual observed skills.
Procedure:
Skills criteria evaluator sheets for each division will be offered on the website, prior to evaluations, for players and parents to review the skills being assessed.
Players attend a minimum of two in-person evaluation sessions. Each session will be an assessment of different skills, player participation is highly recommended.
Every effort will be made to accommodate player attendance conflicts upon the disclosure of absence to the General Manager, however, accommodation is not guaranteed.
RDMBA will assign independent evaluators for all Performance, Competitive and Community team evaluations. Independent evaluators will be chosen by RDMBA who possess; baseball knowledge (experience and/or certification) for the level being evaluated, no conflict of interest with the RDMBA evaluation process and/or players being evaluated.
In the event RDMBA can not secure independent evaluators, every reasonable effort will be made to choose individuals with the same knowledge criteria as above with the least conflict of interest with RDMBA’s evaluation process and/or the players being evaluated.
RDMBA Roster Approval Committee reserves the right to consider; any skills assessed, past player evaluations, and coach feedback for players unable to attend all/no evaluations due to approved unavoidable circumstances.
Instructors will explain / demonstrate the drills in evaluations to ensure the skills are performed accurately and safely during evaluations. Coaching will be limited to player safety corrections only, to ensure the most accurate showcasing of each players ability and performance.
Parent/Player Code of Conduct must be followed with concerns or complaints regarding the Evaluation process. All matters of this nature will be managed appropriately as required by RDMBA.
